Learn@Illinois Moodle - Using the Tiny MCE Text Editor
Learn how to use the Tiny MCE text editor in your course site.

If your text editor looks different, you may need to click "use advanced editor" on your page (if posting to a forum) or read Changing your Text Editor to change your default text editor.
Note: The Tiny MCE editor does not save your text as you compose. If you lose connection or get logged off while composing online, your work will not be saved and there is no way to recover it. Use a text editor or word processing program to compose your assignment and save often. Because most programs add code that online editors cannot read, wait to format the assignment and add images and other media to it until after you have cut and pasted the text into the text editor on the course website.
Note: Due to accessibility concerns, it is strongly recommended not to change the color of text, highlight text, or change the font size of text.

Adding Video or Audio from Illinois Media Space
You should not upload audio or video files directly to Moodle. If you have the file hosted on Illinois Media Space, click the Embed Illinois Media Space rainbow starburst icon. See Embedding Audio or Video from Illinois Media Space for more details.

Click the "Paragraph" drop-down menu to create headings. We recommend starting with a Heading 3 and work down from there for subheadings (The website uses Heading 1 and Heading 2 for things like your course title and activity names). This helps make your course site accessible to people using screen readers. Read more about typographic hierarchy.Cleaning Up Formatting
If you have pasted from another source and the text is formatted improperly, you have several options. They are listed below from left to right.- The Cleanup messy code button will remove some hidden messy code.
