University Bursar - How do I use my 529 College Savings Plan to pay my student account?

Contact your 529 plan administrator regarding the qualified expenses and disbursement of funds from the account.

A 529 Plan is an education savings plan operated by a state or educational institution designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs.

Payments from 529 College Savings Plans should include the student’s name and UIN on the check to ensure proper credit. Payments must be mailed at least 10 business days prior to the due date to allow for mail delivery and processing time. Checks should be made payable to the University of Illinois and mailed to the following location:
