Skype for Business, Installing on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows

Skype for Business is the phone client used by the University of Illinois and Gies College of Business. If you have been assigned a Skype account through the university, you can use the client on some personal devices. Follow the steps below to download and install the app on your iOS or Android device, or your Mac. Windows computers should install Office365 to use Skype for Business.

iOS/iPadOS - Follow the steps in this article to install and sign in to Skype for Business on an iPhone or iPad. If you're prompted to allow the app to access your camera and microphone, choose Allow.

Android - Visit the Google Play Store to install Skype for Business on an Android phone or tablet. Once you have installed it, you can sign in with your account and follow the on-screen steps to grant permissions to use your camera and microphone.

macOS - See this article for important information about how to install, update, and then launch Skype for Business on macOS. If you are prompted to allow access to anything in Privacy Settings, choose Allow.

Windows - See this article for links to download the Office 365 package from WebStore and install and launch Skype for Business on a Windows computer.

Once you have installed Skype for Business, you can sign in with your university phone account.

If you have been issued a Skype phone account as part of a college program like VITA, please use the credentials you have been provided instead of your own university email address.
