Microsoft Teams Room System Setup
Microsoft Teams Rooms Settings for UIUC
To have an account loaded into the Teams Rooms device:
- First you need to create a new resource account or convert an existing user resource account.
- For new accounts please follow these guidelines to have a room mailbox created: Office 365, Email, Creating Or Deleting a Resource or Group Mailbox
- For existing accounts we can convert Role Based (User) Accounts only. We cannot convert common area phones.
- To have an RBA converted into a Teams Rooms, email consult@illinois.edu with the RBA Name and email address.

UIUC Tenant specific settings:
While the physical setup of your device may vary per manufacturer there are some settings you need to make your device work in the UIUC Tenant
- Exchange Sign-in: based on the AD object Account tab.
- Configure Domains - Separate with commas: ad.uillinois.edu, uillinois.edu, uillinoisedu.onmicrosoft.com
Device Support:
Support for MS Teams Rooms devices including panels, hubs, and displays are handled primarily by the local unit IT Professional. Technology Services provides service connectivity of the device. Configuration and troubleshooting of a Teams Rooms device is handled by local IT Professionals. The Teams team can provide limited licensing support, call quality checks, and can reach out to Microsoft for support if necessary.
