Lon-Capa "Shibboleth Error" displayed when accessing embedded videos

Students have reported instances of receiving a generic Shibboleth error when attempting to view embedded MediaSpace videos within Lon-Capa.

Background
It is a common practice to embed multimedia content such as videos within Lon-Capa. The Shibboleth error can be caused by a cached credential issue with the web browser(s) on the machine or a disruption in the authentication of the video streaming service.
Providing a direct link within Lon-Capa for students to the MediaSpace video(s) or subscribing to the channel is alternative solution.

Below are steps students can attempt on their devices:

Clearing the Web Browser Cache

Often, the cached credential issue is most prominent in Google Chrome. At times this can be resolved by logging out and back into Lon-Capa and or clearing the cached credentials. This KB article explains How to Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

Try a Different Web Browser

Try to access the necessary content using a different web browser. Further, students report that the embedded videos within Lon-Capa are most accessible if you use the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Utilize Private Web Browsing

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try private browsing to access the embedded videos within your Lon-Capa course by following these steps:

Incognito Web Browsing Steps

You can also use a keyboard shortcut to open an Incognito window:

You can switch between Incognito windows and regular Chrome windows. Note: You'll only browse in private when you're using an Incognito window.
