What is the Active Apps Notifier?

The Active Apps Notifier displays new "Enhanced App Permissions details", which are being made visible by Zoom in order to be more transparent concerning access to your data.


How do I know if it is being used?

The Active Apps Notifier section appears next to the green security shield in the upper left corner of your Zoom client during meetings/webinars. It will appear as this iconZoom active apps notifier appears as a grey box in the upper right corner of the Zoom desktop application.. Simply hover over the icon to see the specific applications accessing data. Clicking the entry for an application will take you to a webpage with more information.


What should I expect to see in the Active Apps Notifier?

Some example applications are Otter.ai (transcriptions) and live streaming applications. 


Why is the Active Apps Notifier not visible for me?

The Active Apps Notifier icon will only appear when third-party applications integrated with Zoom are accessing your data. If no data is being accessed, the icon will not appear.

You must be running Zoom desktop or mobile client version 5.6.7 or later or be using the web client.
