ATLAS Data Services Center - How to Search Reports

This article details the steps to take when you want to search the ATLAS Data Services Center (DSC) for reports that might be useful to your position.

The DSC has a search area called Discover Reports.  You’ll find the link to this area on the upper right hand side of your screen.

Red Discovery Button

There are 3 search tabs in the Discover Reports Area; Suggested Reports, New Reports, and Search.

The Suggested Reports tab will automatically suggest reports for you based on reports you’ve already run and the preferences you’ve set in your User Profile.  You can also search for specific text within the suggested reports.

Suggested Tab

The New Reports tab will automatically show you new reports that have been added to the DSC recently.

New Reports Tab

The Search tab searches all reports on the DSC based on selected tags or specific text.

Search Tab

When you enter text into the search bar the system searches report titles, descriptions, and tags for the entered text. This is the fastest way to find reports you haven’t yet favorited.  Forget about wading through those categories to find your reports and use the search function.

There is a lot of data available on campus but how do you find it?  We encourage other data providers to register their reports on the DSC to create a central place where users can fulfill their data needs regardless of the data origins.  On the New Reports and Search tabs you can search by data provider.

Other than ATLAS where else on campus do you find useful data?  Drop us a note at atlas-data@illinois.edu to let us know and we’ll invite them to register their reports on the DSC.
