Canvas@Illinois , Course Page Not Displaying Correctly in Safari

If you are trying to access Canvas while using Safari as your browser, you may need to make some updates in order to see the page display properly.

We've recently seen some help desk tickets about this from students who are using the Safari browser on Macs. Most often it looks like this occurs in older versions of Safari. Here are a couple suggestions: 

  • Try accessing Canvas using Chrome or Firefox on your Mac (you should be able to download those browsers if you don't already use them) and see if the problem persists
  • Check to see if your Safari and/or Mac is up to date: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204416
  • Disable any extensions you may have in Safari to see if that helps (scroll to the "How to turn off or uninstall extensions section): https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203051
