Since Fall 2022, Grainger Engineering has sanctioned the free version of Piazza through campus purchasing and risk assessment. Piazza is available to courses who wish to use it.

Courses (or departments) can buy a license for Piazza to enable premium features such: polls, statistics, and class locking capabilities, which are not in the free tier. See their Paid model for Piazza Q&A article for more information.

Getting Started as an Instructor

Instructors can navigate to https://piazza.com/instructors/illinois to start setting up their course.

Integration with Canvas

As of November 2024, Piazza has been integrated with Canvas as an LTI for the Grainger College of Engineering.

Enrolling Students

Roster sync or Single Sign On capabilities are not currently available. Instructors must "invite" students, TAs, and other Instructors using their university email addresses.

This will change after integration with Canvas is available.
