Headset Usage for Online Courses

Statement of requirements for headset usage for taking online courses.

A headset is required for online classes at the iSchool. Using only headphones and the computer's internal microphone may cause feedback or echoing. You might not be able to hear these audio issues, but others in the class session will. Since many of your classes require you to present and participate in discussion, investing in a good headset is highly recommended.

The preferred headset model used by the Technology Services staff and iSchool faculty is the Logitech H650e.

Minimum Requirements:

  • USB-connected headsets are highly recommended for online courses. USB headsets are more dependable than Bluetooth headsets or earbuds.
  • A microphone should be built into the headset.
