iSchool Rooms: How to use the control panel (Room 4035, 4165, 5116)

A guide to using the control panels in rooms 4035, 4165, 5116 in 614 E. Daniel St.

The control panel can be found on the cabinet against the south wall of the room. This panel is a touch screen. Touch the screen to wake it up.

Home Screen

The control panel's home screen has 4 choices you can choose from:

Home screen

  • Wireless Projection: This enables you to use a wireless connection (via Solstice or AirPlay) to connect a laptop to the television screens. This is the least optimal option for most uses as more issues occur when connecting wirelessly.

  • Built-in Computer: This enables you to project the built-in computer to the television screens. This is the optimal way to use this room and the only way to connect a remote attendee to the ClearOne microphone mounted on the ceiling. If you have a guest joining online, please use this setting. You can also join the same meeting on your laptop (muting your laptop) for ease and comfort, but be sure the built-in computer is handling sound.

  • Laptop: This enables you to project a laptop to the televisions via an HDMI cable.

  • Off: Turns off the LED screens (the control panel will remain on)

Not sure what you want or plan to do a combination of these things? No worries! The first three options (Wireless Projection, Built-In Computer, and Laptop) all take you to the same screen where you can modify which source displays on which television. You can also click the gear icon in the lower right to advance to the main screen.

Main Screen

The main screen of the control panel has different areas that control different functions.

Source Matrix
