UIUC AnyWare, Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

Beginning August 11, 2023 MFA is required to access UIUC AnyWare

What is happening? 

On August 11, 2023, UIUC AnyWare will implement Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). Any login to UIUC AnyWare will require MFA. This should be a familiar experience for students and staff who have utilized university websites and services.  

 

How will this affect me if I am enrolled in MFA? 

You will be presented with an MFA Duo Security prompt after logging in to UIUC AnyWare and selecting a Desktop. You must approve the Duo Security prompt with the method you setup at enrollment. An example of the Duo Security prompt is shown below:

How will this affect me if I am not enrolled in MFA? 

If you log in to UIUC AnyWare and attempt to launch a desktop, you will be presented with a message from Duo Security:
