TDX, U of I Main Email Monitors

This document describes how Email Monitors are set up and handled within the U of I Main Ticketing Application. Each monitor should be set up with the same basic configuration but can be adjusted as necessary for each unit/group. This has been set by the U of I Main Advisory Group and Tech Services.

Naming 

  • [Campus]-[Unit]-[Sub Group]-[Email Address being Monitored] 
  • Sub Group is only included if necessary 

Auth Account 

  • This should be “uofimaintdxmailaccess – Microsoft OAuth 2.0 (IMAP)” 
  • This account is an Azure/AD Service account and will need to be placed in the “FA” or full access group for the mailbox being monitored 

Monitored Target Email 

  • This is the mailbox being monitored. The AD Username of the mailbox will need to be here, not the mailbox name itself. 

Monitored Folder Name 

  • Usually set to Inbox but can be set to other folders depending on the unit/group’s needs. 

Process Folder Name 

  • Must be at the root level (at the same level of inbox) 
  • Can be named anything but usually “Processed” or “TDX Processed” 

Unsuccessful Folder Name 

  • Must be at the root level (at the same level of inbox) 
  • Can be named anything but usually “Unsuccessful” or “TDX Unsuccessful” 

Error to Email 

  • Default to “uofimaintdxmailerrors@uillinois.edu” 
  • If the Unit/Group would like to receive the emails instead, set it to what they want. 

TD Username 

  • Supplied by through submission of a TDX System Administration request.
  • This account is a TDX Service Account that creates the ticket. 

Attachments 

  • Default to Yes 

Rules 

  • There needs to be at least one rule that has the subject field blank. This will ensure that every ticket in the inbox (or monitored folder) gets processed.
