Denodo Consumers - Connecting to PowerBI

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how consumers can connect to PowerBI in Denodo.

In order to connect to Denodo using Microsoft Power BI, you will first need to install the Denodo ODBC driver and set up a DSN on your computer. See this KB article Denodo Consumers - Installing the ODBC Driver for instructions on completing these preliminary steps.

  1. Open Power BI Desktop and navigate to Get Data.
  2. Type Denodo in the search bar and select the Denodo option when it appears.
  3. In the DSN or Connection String box, enter the name of your DSN (from the preliminary step above) that matches the architecture (32-bit vs. 64-bit) of your Power BI application.
  4. At the bottom of the window, select Direct Query, and click OK.
  5. When the authentication window pops up, select Basic, enter your NetID and AD password, and click Connect.
  6. Expand the folders to see the base views and integrated views from Denodo.
  7. Select which views to load and click Load.
