Optional: Using an online account to sync browser data
If you have signed in to an online account in the browser, it may have a sync feature that automatically backs up your bookmarks, history, etc. Here are some documentation articles from common web browsers to help check if you have the sync feature turned on.
Export bookmarks to a file
Chrome
Select the three-dot button in the top-right corner, select "Bookmarks and lists," and select "Bookmark manager"
Alternatively, paste in the address chrome://bookmarks/
and press Enter, or press Ctrl+Shift+O
Select the three-dot button next to the search icon to open the Organize menu
Select "Export bookmarks"
Select a destination, e.g., Box Drive, and select "Save"
You have exported bookmarks from Chrome
Firefox
Open application menu in the top-right corner, select "Bookmarks" and select "Manage bookmarks" at the bottom
Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+O
Select "Import and Backup" on the top, and select "Backup..."
Select a destination, e.g., Box Drive, and select "Save"
You have exported bookmarks from Firefox
Edge
Select the three-dot button in the top-right corner, select "Favorites"
Select the three-dot button on the top of the pop-up window, select "Open favorites page"
Select the three-dot button to the right of the page title
Select "Export favorites"
Select a destination, e.g., Box Drive, and select "Save"
You have exported bookmarks from Edge
Import bookmarks from a file
Chrome
Select the three-dot button in the top-right corner, select "Bookmarks and lists," and select "Bookmark manager"

Select the backup file, e.g., locate it in Box Drive, and select "Open"

Select the three-dot button on the top of the pop-up window, select "Open favorites page"
Select the three-dot button to the right of the page title
Select "Export favorites"
In the section "Import from other browsers," select "Choose what to import"
Select "Favorites or bookmarks HTML file" in the drop down menu, toggle on "Favorites or bookmarks" and select "Choose file"
Select the backup file, e.g., locate it in Box Drive, and select "Open"
Your bookmarks have been imported into Edge
