Adobe Digital Editions: Installation & Authorization

This guide provides instructions on using Adobe Digital Editions to access eBooks and offers solutions for resolving login issues related to Adobe ID and password.

Some eBooks require Adobe Digital Editions for access. You can download the installer from the Adobe website: Adobe Digital Editions Installers.

Installation & Authorization:

  1. Install Adobe Digital Editions using the provided installer.
  2. When prompted for an Adobe ID and password, try entering your university credentials.
  3. If you receive an "Incorrect Adobe ID or Password" error:
    • Click the checkbox in the lower-left corner: "I want to authorize my computer without an ID."
    • Click Authorize to proceed.

  4. The Computer Authorization window in Adobe Digital Editions will display "Your computer has been authorized." Even if you selected Authorize without an ID, the computer will still be successfully authorized with a Vendor ID, as shown in the image below.

  5. Click OK, and you can now open and read your eBook.

Accessing Library Resources Off-Campus

To access library resources off-campus, make sure to connect to VPN and select Tunnel All to ensure proper access.

Using Adobe Acrobat & Creative Cloud

To use Adobe Acrobat, verify if you are eligible and have a valid license through the Illinois Illinois WebStore.
