ICS, Software Installation Policy for ICS-Supported Labs and Illinois AnyWare

The Technology Services – Instructional Computing Services (ICS) supports a selection of software applications across all ICS-supported labs, classrooms, and the Illinois AnyWare virtual environment.

A complete list of available software can be found here: go.illinois.edu/TechSvclabsoftware.

Software Requests

  • The requesting department or college must provide the software and valid licensing to ICS.

  • Installation requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. To help us serve you better, please submit requests as early as possible.

  • Requestors are responsible for testing the software no later than three business days before use to confirm it functions properly in the lab environment.

To submit a software request, please complete the Software Request Form:  go.illinois.edu/icssoftwarerequest

Software Availability

  • Software is guaranteed to be available only for the semester in which it is requested.

  • Class-related software installations will remain on ICS-supported workstations during the Fall and Spring semesters. However, software may be removed during the summer unless it is explicitly required for a summer course.

Usage Guildlines

  • ICS-supported labs and systems are provided as an instructional resource.

  • Due to the terms of many software license agreements, ICS computers may not be used for research purposes.
