HOW TO: Log into Yealink Phone

How to log into a Yealink IP Phone

Basic instructions:

As a first step, it's always best to reboot the phone. On the back of the phone, remove the Ethernet cable from the port labeled Internet. If there is an Ethernet cable in the PC port, you can leave that alone.
Wait 30 seconds, plug the Ethernet cable back into the Internet port on the back of the phone and place the phone on the desk so you can see the phone's screen. Rebooting may take 2-3 minutes, so be patient.
If your phone is asking for a language and timezone setting, follow the prompts.
Select Login on the Yealink phone's touch interface - you will see a screen that shows you
On a computer, open a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and go to https://microsoft.com/devicelogin - this should be the same site as shown on the phone screen
Enter the code shown on the phone (circled, above) into the web page textbox labeled "Code"
If you had previously authenticated to a University website, you may be able to simply choose your Microsoft account
If you have not previously logged into your University Microsoft account, then you will see a prompt titled "Email, phone or Skype". Enter your full University email address (NetID@illinois.edu) and click Next
- You will be taken to page where you will login with your University email address and password.
You will be prompted for 2FA if not already two-factor authenticated for the day.
The Yealink phone should now be logged in.

If you are logging into a common area phone, use the service account address and AD password for that account. If you do not know this, email scs-computing@illinois.edu and we can log into the phone for you.
