VPN, CISCO AnyConnect, removing vpn.illinois.edu from the drop-down menu

Instructions for removing "vpn.illinois.edu" from the VPN drop-down menu.

Windows

  1. Open a Windows Explorer window.
  2. Paste this file path into the address bar in Windows Explorer: %ProgramData%\Cisco\Cisco Secure Client\VPN\Profile
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Delete the file SplitTunnelClientProfile.xml.
  5. If the VPN client is running, quit and restart the VPN client by right-clicking the Cisco AnyConnect (or Cisco Secure Client) icon in the system tray (left of the clock) and select Quit.


"vpn.illinois.edu" should no longer appear in the drop-down menu.

Mac

  1. In Finder use Go->Go to Folder... to open this directory: /opt/cisco/secureclient/vpn/profile
  2. Delete the file SplitTunnelClientProfile.xml
  3. Quit and relaunch the Cisco Secure Client.
