New to Campus, Recommended Computer Configurations

Learn more about what Technology Services recommends when you're bringing a computer to campus.

Technology Services and most campus departments support both Mac and Windows computers and most mobile devices. Therefore, we don't make any specific hardware recommendations.

Generally, at a minimum, you want your computer to:

Be less than 3 years old.
Have at least 8 GB of RAM (16 GB preferred).
Have WPA2-capable wireless connectivity with an a/ac/g/n wireless card.
Be able to check email, write papers, and run software necessary to use the campus network.
