EDDIE/Web Intelligence Rich Client - Reading, Design and Structure Modes

Documents open in Reading mode; Cannot Edit/Refresh; Toolbars missing

Web Intelligence has three viewing modes - Reading, Design and Structure.

  • Reading mode is a read-only mode used to view, refresh, save, and print reports, but does not allow access to make changes.
  • Design mode allows users to fully edit the queries and reports.
  • Structure mode is similar to Design mode, but report elements display formulas instead of data.

In EDDIE, double-clicking a document is the same as right-clicking and selecting View. This will open the document in Reading mode.

If you open a report and are unable to edit, first check that you are not in Reading mode.

Right-clicking a document and selecting Modify will open it in Design mode.

Once a document is open, in EDDIE or Web Intelligence Rich Client, it is very simple to switch back and forth between viewing modes:

ALT + 1 for Reading mode

ALT + 2 for Design mode

ALT + 3 for Structure mode
