AITS - Service Desk - Application or Page - Not Displaying Correctly in Browser

Suggestions for when an application does not display correctly in the browser or misbehaves.

What might cause my display to change from the last time I was on the website or in the web application?

Cache and cookies are bits of information collected and stored on your computer from webpages and web applications.  This helps your computer run faster on subsequent visits.  Over time these pieces of information can be changed or updated within the webpage or application.  This can happen when a web application is upgraded or patched.  Sometimes the locally stored cache or cookie information stored on the computer can conflict with the updated information causing unpredictable display issues.

How do I clear my cache/cookies?

Click here for instructions on how to clear cache and cookies in your web browser

Examples of display problems where clearing cache/cookies should resolve issue:

  • New HRFE/PARIS releases (ex: buttons not visible at bottom of screen)
  • I-9 Tracker errors (ex: "Error has occurred we can not service your request at this time")
  • Tableau users using Google Chrome may find they need to clear the cache in order to remove cached versions of JavaScript files.
  • 'Invalid Program State' error message in a web application
