How to sign up for an ACES Grammarly@edu account

The College of ACES has renewed the license for Grammarly@edu, which all students, faculty, and staff in the College can use during the academic year. We have received good feedback about Grammarly@edu from instructors who have had their students use it for writing assignments in their classes and undergraduate and graduate students who use it to review/revise their writing assignments.

The following instructions will be in effect starting Thursday, August 24, 2017:
  1. Write to the ACES Office of Academic Programs using the email address:, asking for access to the ACES Grammarly@edu service
  2. Once your access is granted, you'll receive a notification email from Grammarly inviting you to activate your account
  3. Click the "Activate" link and it will take you to Grammarly's login page
  4. To set a password for the first time, click the "Forgot my password" link
  5. Check your email for a password reset notification from Grammarly and click the "Reset Password" button
  6. Set your password - it can be different from your campus password
  7. Start using Grammarly@edu!
If you already have an account from our previous license, your access was cancelled on Wednesday, August 24, 2017. Please follow the instructions above to regain access.

Grammarly@edu is an online computerized program that scans written documents and provides an in-depth, extensive grammar review complete with explanations on more than 250 types of potential writing errors.  The main purpose of the program is to help the users produce a more polished final written product while improving their writing techniques.  Although this software may not be completely error-proof, we believe that the features of the program can aid in enhancing writing skills, and more importantly, help students learn how to avoid grammatical errors. There is no "accept all" feature on Grammarly@edu which means that students must decide for themselves how to improve their writing, using the options provided by the software tool.
