Kaltura, 360-degree video

To play 360-degree video in Kaltura, the video needs to be tagged with "360".
The Kaltura video player now supports 360-degree video.

360-degree (or immersive) videos are very large resolution videos produced by multi-directional cameras.  In playback the viewer can control the viewing angle displayed.

In order for the player to recognize a video as 360-degree format, you'll need to add the tag, "360."  You can access the Tag field when you first upload your video or when you edit it later through My Media in mediaspace.illinois.edu, under the Details tab.

how to add a tag

Note: if you add the 360 tag to a video that is not in 360-degree format, Kaltura's player will display it this way, with a fish-eye effect that will probably make the video unwatchable.  And a 360-degree video without this tag will be played as a normal video, with all the angles flattened out, also probably unwatchable.

Keyboard controls
Navigation of the 360 video can be controlled via a mouse or keyboard controls.
