SSW - How to Perform a System Restore

System Restore is a Windows recovery tool that allows the reversal of changes made to the operating system. This reversal affects installed programs, Windows updates, system files, drivers, and registry keys; it will not, however, remove viruses or affect personal files.
  1. Right-click the Start Button, then select "Control Panel".
  2. In the search box in the top right, type "Recovery". Select "Recovery".
  3. Navigate to "Recovery" > "Open System Restore" > "Next".
  4. Choose a restore point from the list that appears and select "Next" > "Finish".

If you're not seeing any restore points, it might mean system protection is disabled. To check, go to the Control Panel and search "Recovery", then navigate to "Recovery" > "Configure System Restore" > "Configure" and select "Turn on system protection".
