ACES Email Lists - Block Auto-replies from sending to college lists
In the new Campus Lists system, an out-of-office or auto-reply message will be seen as a bounce. To avoid that scenario, we recommend that you prevent auto-replies when receiving messages from ACES, Extension, and campus email lists.
- Click on File > Automatic Replies (Out of Office)
- Select the "Rules" button from the bottom left of the new window
- Click "Add Rule"
- In the "From" box type *@aces.illinois.edu
- Click "Advanced"
- Check "Only items that do not match these conditions"
- Click "OK"
- Under action, click 'alert with' and choose "text" but leave it blank
- Click "OK"
- Click "OK"
- Create your automatic reply, and enable the "send auto replies"
- Click "OK"
- (Optional) Create a second rule with the same settings, but for step for, use *@lists.illinois.edu
