Skype for Business Basics
This guide helps users manage voice calls using the Skype for Business client or an IP phone.
Transferring calls
Note: Your Yealink phone must be unlocked in order to initiate a transfer. Your unlock phone's unlock PIN should be on the unit itself (usually on the back). If you cannot find it, or are having issues, feel free to contact IT@VetMed. The instructions below are for the Yealink T46S phone but should be similar for other models.
Direct/Blind Transfer
This transfers your caller directly to another number
On the Yealink phone:
- Press the transfer button (
) or More -> B Trans during a call.
- Enter a number or choose a contact to call.
- Press the transfer button (
) or the Transfer option on the phone.
Consultative/Announced Transfer
This allows you to speak with the recipient of an incoming transferred call.
On the Yealink phone:
- Press More->Transfer during a call.
- Enter a number or choose a contact to call.
- Press OK or Call soft key to dial out. Your original call is placed on hold.
- After the party answers and is ready to receive the call, press the transfer button (
) or the Transfer option to complete the transfer.
