All computer equipment purchased by the University of Illinois is property of the State of Illinois. Thus, it cannot be given, sold or otherwise transferred outside the University.
In general, Engineering IT will not support equipment which is out of date, or end-of-life (i.e. no longer supported by the vendor), except for documented University business use cases which require it to persist. Scrap and end-of-life equipment will be properly disposed of according to University policy and State of Illinois law.
