This page is to help configure your Gaming Consoles to our Wi-Fi network.

The following configuration information is for user to connect a Nintendo to the Wi-Fi Network! This should be similar instructions for different versions of Nintendo devices. Images shown below are of the Nintendo Switch.

  1. Connect, and turn on your Nintendo Switch

  2. Go to the Settings tab

  3. Select "Setup Internet Connection"

  4. At the bottom, it will display the Nintendo MAC address. Please record this value.

  5. At this point, turn off your Nintendo Switch.

  6. Please access a computer and navigate to the Devices Registration Portal. This page will allow you to register devices to be used on the network. The URL is http://go.illinois.edu/illinoisnetdevices.

    Please be advised that this device registration will be valid of 1 year! If you wish the device to be valid for more then a year, toward the expiration of that device, you will need to extend the expiration. Details on how to do this are in the troubleshooting section.   7. Log in using your NETID and password

  8. In the center of the screen or the top of the page, click "Device", and then on the next page click "Create New Device"

  9. Fill out the appropriate information, including the MAC address that you recorded earlier

  10. Submit the form and you are done! Turn the Nintendo Switch back on-line, it should automatically connect to IllinoisNet_Guest, if it does not, go back into settings and select the IllinoisNet_Guest Wi-Fi Network. Enjoy!

The following configuration information is for user to connect an Microsoft XBOX to the Wi-Fi Network! This should be similar instructions for all versions of Xbox. Images shown below are of the XBOX 360.

  1. Connect, and turn on your Xbox

  2. Go to the system settings tab

  3. Select "Network Settings"

  4. Select "IllinoisNet_Guest" as the network you want to connect to

  5. If you get an automated "test", please stop it

  6. On the next screen, select "Configure Network"

  7. Select Advanced Settings

  8. At the bottom, it will display the XBOXs MAC address. Please record this value.

  9. At this point, turn off your XBOX.

  10. Please access a computer and navigate to the Devices Registration Portal. This page will allow you to register devices to be used on the network. The URL is http://go.illinois.edu/illinoisnetdevices.

The following configuration information is for user to connect a Playstation to the Wi-Fi Network! This should be similar instructions for all versions of Playstation. Images shown below are of the Playstation 4

  1. Connect, and turn on your Playstation

  2. Go to the Settings tab

  3. Select "Setup Internet Connection"

  4. Select "Easy" Setup

  5. At the bottom, it will display the Playstation MAC address. Please record this value.

  6. At this point, turn off your Playstion.

  7. Please access a computer and navigate to the Devices Registration Portal. This page will allow you to register devices to be used on the network. The URL is http://go.illinois.edu/illinoisnetdevices.
