EDDIE - Data Sources

Data source types available in EDDIE (HTML Web Intelligence).

Unlike the Web Intelligence Rich Client, EDDIE cannot connect to local file systems. However, you can still use your own Excel and Text files as data sources in EDDIE.

List of possible data sources to use in EDDIE:

  • Universe
  • Web Intelligence document
  • Excel
  • Text

In order to use Excel or Text files, they must first be uploaded to EDDIE.

  • From the Home Screen, click on the Folders tile and navigate to the Personal Folder where you want the file uploaded.
  • Click the Create/Upload Objects icon and select Upload Document.

  • Locate the file on your computer and click Add.

Once the file has been uploaded to EDDIE, you can use it as a data source in a Web Intelligence document.

  • Select Excel as the data source, locate the Excel file you just uploaded, and click Open.

  • In the Excel Data Provider window, you can select which Sheet in the workbook to use, and whether the first row contains column names.
