Digital Signage, Changing License Activation from Legacy to Cloud on a Content Player

Steps to follow to activate a new content player in the FWi Cloud Device Manager

A Cloud-Licensed Content Player should appear as the following (for Content Player 5.11 and later)


If the player does not show as License: Application licensed, please follow the steps below.


Steps to Register Content Player in the FWi Cloud Device Manager

To verify the license status of a player, open Content Player Configuration on the signage player

(Press C if Content Player is running || If the player is stopped, Content Player Configuration is available in the Start Menu)

Click the About tab

If the License is listed as (legacy) and the Activate Cloud button is present, the player is not licensed in Poppulo Harmony Web App (formerly FWi Cloud) Device module and will need an activation code.


Activation codes are created in the Poppulo Harmony Device module and have a 7 day expiration period. To get an activation code, please submit a ticket to with the following information:

  • If a Windows device, the Windows host (computer) name and mac address for the active network interface

  • If a non-Windows device, the type of device, a name for the device, and the serial number

Upon receiving this information, a service administrator will generate the activation code and communicate it to you


After receiving the activation code, click on the Activate Cloud button.

Enter the Invite Code and click OK


If the invite code is accepted, Content Player should return that the license was activated successfully.
