Desktops and Laptops - Windows - Remote Desktop - Power Settings

In order to remotely connect to an Windows desktop or docked laptop, for example when you're working from home, you will need to prevent the computer from going to sleep. Follow the steps below to change the necessary power settings.


On the Windows home screen, click the magnifying glass to start a search

Type the phrase "Power Settings"

Open the Power & Sleep Settings window

Under "Sleep" -> "When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after", click the drop-down and scroll down to "Never"
