Accessing your network (share) drives when off campus/working from home
Note: To access your network drives when off Campus you will need to first login to the Campus VPN service. This creates a secure connection between your computer and the Illinois Campus network.

When you connect to a network drive, you will be prompted for credentials. Use uofi\NetID and your Campus AD (email, VPN) password.
On a Windows computer:
Once connected to the VPN you can type the path of your shared network resource in the address bar of My Computer.

NOTE: On Windows machines, you can create shortcuts to any of these folders by right-clicking the folder and choosing "Send to --> Desktop (create shortcut)."
On a Mac:
Once connected to the VPN, go to the "Go" menu and choose "Connect to Server..." In the Server Address field, type the following for each shared resource you would like to access.

Note for Mac users: You can save favorite addresses in the "Connect to Server" window by clicking the plus (+) sign at the end of the Server Address field.
