Security & Privacy - Security Liaison Program

The Privacy and Security Liaison Program is a partnership between University Privacy and Security principals and University Privacy and Security Liaisons, the representatives from colleges and units who are responsible for the privacy and security aspects of their respective areas.

Unit Liaison:

The ideal Unit Privacy and Security Liaison will be a college or unit senior-level representative(s) who can direct, delegate, or influence technology, activities, processes, and/or programs in their realm. The person(s) who represents the privacy and security interests of the campus on behalf of their unit need not be an IT professional, they could also easily be administration, facilitators, management, or other leadership role empowered within their unit to address privacy and security issues and concerns. Units are asked to appoint at least one Unit Privacy and Security Liaison with the expectation of a minimum two year term. During their term it is projected that the individual will spend on average 5 hours per month in this role.

Technical Liaison:

The ideal Technical Privacy and Security Liaison will be a college or unit IT professional(s) who can direct, delegate, or influence technology, activities, processes, and/or programs in their realm. Units are asked to appoint at least one Technical Privacy and Security Liaison with the expectation of a minimum two year term. During their term it is projected that the individual will spend on average 17 hours per month in this role.
