Moving University computer equipment home

Some University-owned equipment may be moved home without prior authorization from OIST.

We ask that you do not take equipment from the University to your home in order to work unless it is listed on this page. If you are unable to work from home using items you personally own or items from this list, you should speak with your department head or supervisor.

These are the currently approved University-owned items that you may move to your home for working remotely. These items can be taken home without prior coordination with OIST:

    • Laptop including spare charger
    • Skype for Business headset or Polycom CX300 USB phone
    • External keyboard
    • External mouse
    • External webcam

Desktop computers, docking stations, and external monitors may be approved for taking home. Please contact us if you are interested in taking other items home. Printers are not approved for taking home.
