SHS 256 AV System Reboot
Steps to thoroughly shut down and restart AV system in SHS 256, especially when control system is very slow to respond. This is not to be used routinely.
If touch commands on wall-mounted AV control system do not react within a couple of seconds of touch, you may need to restart with these steps.
[If you are uncomfortable with this process, and have already consulted with our IT team at AHS, submit a ticket to consult@illinois.edu, ask that they escalate to CCME, let them know that you are an IT Pro with IT Partners @ AHS, note that this is a Department Room, and provide our CFOP to charge.]
- You will need a key to 256A SHS, or an SHS master key.
- Shut down the rack power. (in 256A):
- White rocker switch on front of rack will sequentially shut down most components.
- Red rocker switch on front of rack will shut down more components.
- Slide the rack away from the wall a bit so that you can see behind it.
- Shut Down AMX NX-2200 AV Controller by disconnecting power:
- Disconnect the power cord from the power supply labeled NX-2200 PWR SUP PO5, which is strapped to one of the sides of the rack (back/inside) (see photo).
- Shut down wall-mounted AMX touch panel using Iris network switch management tool:
- Open Iris, find jack HBP05-09 on switch port sw-speech4-4, un-check the POE box to remove power (see screenshot).
- Wait 1 minute.
- Restore rack power.
- Turn on rack main power with red rocker switch.
- Turn on additional rack components with white rocker switch.
- Reconnect power cord on AMX NX-2200 power supply inside back of rack. Controller will boot.
- Restore power to touch panel by checking the POE box on sw-speech4-4 (jack HBP5-09) in Iris. Watch touch panel reboot - it may take a few minutes.
- System may come up in an odd state, which may require doing a SHUT DOWN on touch panel, waiting, and re-starting with touch panel controls before everything looks right.
