Reminders About Cybersecurity Best Practices

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you well. Due to recent email phishing attempts, it is essential to remain vigilant about cybersecurity threats. I want to remind everyone of some of the best practices to follow regarding email security.

Firstly, please be aware that phishing attacks are on the rise. These attacks are designed to trick you into revealing sensitive information or downloading malware onto your computer. [Learn more about common phishing types] Technology Services Privacy & Cybersecurity offers quarterly training sessions focusing on email phishing attempts to help you recognize and avoid phishing attempts. Please use these online trainings to stay up-to-date on the latest threats. If you receive an email that appears suspicious, please do not click on any links or download any attachments. Instead, report the message using the Report Spam Outlook feature. https://answers.uillinois.edu/illinois/internal/page.php?id=109228. You can also check with the sender to verify the email's authenticity. Please do not reply to the email or forward it to others, as this can spread the phishing attack.

If you have questions or concerns about email security, please contact the IT Partners @ AHS Help Desk. We are here to help you stay safe and secure online.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
