1001 Huff / Khan Annex Classroom AV Instructions
Instructions for use of the AV system in 1001 Huff / Khan Annex classroom
SYSTEM START UP
- Press both ON buttons on console to start the projection system and lower the screen.
- Once ON light is steady (not flashing), select PC input.
- Log on to the classroom computer with your netID and campus password.
- DO NOT plug in a laptop computer to the classroom system.
- When class is done, follow the System Shut Down steps below.
FIRST LOGON? FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
- Your first logon to any classroom computer takes a few seconds longer than subsequent logons.
- In the system tray on the lower right-hand corner of the screen, right-click on the speaker/volume icon and choose Open Sound Settings. For Output device, select Speakers (Realtek ® Audio). For Input device, select Microphone (Yeti Stereo Microphone). Close sound settings with x in upper right corner.
- Click Windows Start button and type Default Apps (then select it) to change default Web browser and media player.
ZOOM ISSUES?
- Launch the Zoom app or open your preferred browser and go to https://illinois.zoom.us . Always choose SSO for login in order to use your UIUC credentials.
- Audio issues?
- Click “^” next to the “Mute” button in the lower Zoom menu.
- Under “Select a microphone” click Microphone (Yeti Stereo Microphone).
- Under “Select a speaker” click Speakers (Realtek ® Audio).
- DO NOT disconnect microphone from the computer system.
- Click “^” next to the “Mute” button in the lower Zoom menu.
- Camera issues?
- Click “Start Video” in the lower Zoom menu.
- Click “^” next to “Stop Video” and select BCC950 Conference Cam.
- Conference camera has buttons for up/down/left/right for pan and tilt.
- DO NOT disconnect camera from the computer system.
SYSTEM SHUT DOWN - DO THIS EVEN IF ANOTHER CLASS IS RIGHT AFTER YOURS
- Sign out by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete then choose “Sign out”.
- Press both OFF buttons on the console to shut down the projection system and raise the screen.
- Do not leave the projection system on Mute.
- Please leave the computer ON.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- If the computer is not powered on, press the power button on the computer’s front panel. The computer is located in the cabinet under the keyboard.
- DO NOT plug a laptop computer into this classroom system.
- Keyboard or mouse trouble? Add new batteries if necessary. Batteries can be found in the cabinet under the keyboard.
