  • For assistance, please contact IT PARTNERS @ Applied Health Sciences: (217) 333-2113 or helpdesk@ahs.illinois.edu
  • The Resident Computer is always connected and available to anyone with a NetID.  If you choose to use a laptop, you may connect it to the loose HDMI cable, and the system will automatically switch to that source.  The Resident Computer will only be displayed on the projector when no device is connected to the HDMI cable.
  • You are encouraged to use the Resident Computer when possible, as this will allow for the most functionality and support.
  • Room speakers and microphone are always connected to the Resident Computer, making this the preferred source for video conferencing.

Startup and Shutdown

  • Touch Start on Welcome screen of touch panel.
    • Projector will start and screen will be lowered.
  • Touch "Laptop/Conference" from Source Selection Screen on touch panel (after short warmup).
    • This selects the computer inputs - both Resident Computer and Laptop HDMI. If a device is connected to the free HDMI cable, that device will be displayed on projector with this selection.
  • Log in to the Resident Computer using your NetID and appropriate password.
    • If computer power is off, press round power button on front panel of computer to restart it.
    • If this is your first login, you may wish to change your default browser and media players.  Click the Windows Start button, then type "default," and select the resulting Default apps menu.
  • When finished with the system:
    • Sign out of the computer.  Please do not shut down computer.
    • Shut down AV system: Touch "SHUTDOWN" in the upper right corner of the touch panel, and confirm by touching "Yes, shut down."
      • Projector will shut down and screen will be raised.

Display Tips

  • PC monitor and projector image may be set to "Duplicate" or "Extend."  "Duplicate" will display the same content on the desktop monitor and the projector image.  "Extend" will make them separate Windows desktops.  You must choose "Extend" in order to use Presenter Mode in Powerpoint.
    • Change between these modes by touching the "Windows key" and the "P" key, and selecting your preference.  You can close the resulting menu by touching the "Esc" key.

Audio and Video Conferencing Tips

  • Audio/Video conferencing tips: select "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (TesiraForte)" as both sound output (Speaker) and sound input (Microphone) in Windows, Teams, Zoom.
  • Logitech Conference Camera is connected for video, and is called "BCC950 ConferenceCam."
  • Always test audio before your meeting and ask remote participants to confirm that they can hear you.

Other touch panel functions

  • The Source Selection and Display Controls screens contain room sound volume up/down, sound mute, and image mute controls.
  • Please use SHUTDOWN to raise screen and shut down AV System when finished, rather than with the functions on the Display Controls screen.
