Remoting into a Windows Computer from Windows

  1. Check your network connection. Verify you are connected to IllinoisNet, and you have permission to remote in.
    1. Note: If you are off campus, you will need to create a VPN connection. See instructions VPN Instructions
  2. Click the “Start Menu”
  3. Type “Remote Desktop Connection” and select it
  4. In the “Computer” field, type the name of the computer you are trying to access.
    1. i.e. KCH-PNC-D3
    2. If this doesn’t work, try including the domain
      1. i.e. KCH-PNC-D3.ad.uillinois.edu
  5. Click “Show Options”
  6. In the “User name” field, type your NetID with the UOFI domain specified i.e. UOFI\YourNetIDHere

After pressing “Connect”, you should have now successfully remoted in!
