How to Find Your iPad Model and Serial Number

Learn how to quickly find your iPad’s model name, model number, and serial number using the Settings app or by checking the back of the device.

Option 1: iPad Settings

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap About.
  4. Look for:
    • Model Name (example: iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation))
    • Model Number
    • Serial Number

Option 2: iPad Warranty Information

  1. Locate the iPad's serial number on the back of the device.  You may also see the model information listed. 
  2. Visit the Apple Warranty site and enter the iPad's serial number to retrieve warranty information, including the required model name and number.

Option 3: iTunes

  • By connecting the iPad to a computer:
    • On Windows: Open iTunes, connect the iPad via the USB cord, select the iPad, and click Summary.

Option 4:  Ipad Packaging

  • The model and serial are located on the original iPad packaging.

JAMF Eligibility

If you know your iPad's model name and number, you can determine whether it can be enrolled in JAMF on the Apple support site.  Only the models listed support iPadOS 18 and are eligible for enrollment.
