Outlook, Gies Mailing Lists, Disable auto-replies for college emails

The college email lists system treats email "Out of Office" auto-replies as bounces. Too many bounces will block emails from being received. Follow this guide to create a rule that allows college emails through even if auto-replies are on.

In Microsoft Outlook (Windows, old look):

Go to File - "Automatic Replies (Out of Office)"

Select "Rules" (bottom left)

Select "Add Rule"

In the "From" box, enter *@lists.giesbusiness.illinois.edu - note the asterisk *

Choose "Advanced"

Check "Only items that do not match these conditions"

Select "OK"

Select an Action, check 'alert with,' and then choose "OK."

Choose "OK" until all windows are closed.

Note: if Automatic Replies are turned on during this process, change the selection back to "Do not send automatic replies."

Select the Back arrow, top-left, to return to the main Outlook window.
