University of Illinois ChatGPT Education (Illinois Campus) Setup - ChatGPT Edu New Account
The steps below outline the process for setting up a new University of Illinois ChatGPT Education (Illinois Campus) account.
Instructions
- In the initial email invitation from OpenAI to collaborate using ChatGPT Edu in the University of Illinois ChatGPT Education - Illinois Campus workspace, select the Join Workspace button.
- On the Get started page, select the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your university email address into the Email address field and then clicking the Continue button below it.
- For the How you want to log in? prompt, select the University of Illinois button.
- On the next prompt, select the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign option and then select the Select button.
- If you are already logged in to the university system, you will now be taken to your ChatGPT Edu workspace with a few pop-ups. (If not, then you will be prompted to log in and verify your identity.) In the first pop-up (about tips for getting started), click the Okay, let's go button.
- In the next pop-up, select one of the two options: Transfer existing chat history and GPTs, or Export and delete existing chat history. Then, select the Continue button. (Note: This screen typically does not appear during the setup process. If it does, you can select either option to continue. However, these options may not have any effect on your account or data.)
- For the final prompt asking you to connect your apps, you can select either the Not Now or Connect app button. Note that these instructions guide you through the first option.
- You should now see and have access to your ChatGPT Edu workspace. You can begin using it by adding a prompt to the What can I help with? field. Enjoy!
