Contract Appointments
This document contains detailed by step-by-step process to a submitting contract appointments
Step 1: Submit Requisition in JDX
- The unit submits the contract appointment requisition in JDX and must include the office address in the comments field.

- IHR Matrix Team will review workflow accordingly.
- Once approved in JDX, the requisition feeds automatically into Cornerstone system.
Step 2: Prepare Posting in Cornerstone
- The unit reviews the requisition in Cornerstone.
- Update any missing or incomplete information.
- Submit the posting for Matrix Team review.
Step 3: Matrix Team Review & Posting
- The Matrix Team and OAE reviews the posting for accuracy and compliance.
- Once approved, the Matrix Team posts the contract appointment on the job board.
Step 4: Application Review
- When the posting closes, the unit/committee:
- Develops a screening tool and reviews all applications.
- Identifies candidates they want to move forward with.
- Contacts the Matrix Team to verify whether those candidates the unit is moving forward with meet minimum qualifications.
- The Matrix Team confirms qualifications and communicates results to the committee.
Step 5: Interviews & Finalist Selection
- The unit/committee conducts interviews.
- Once a finalist is chosen:
- The unit notifies the Matrix Team.
- The Matrix Team creates a referral for the selected finalist.
Step 6: Closing the Search
The unit is responsible for:
- Update candidate status in Cornerstone using Contract appointment codes:

- Closing and dispositioning all applicants in Cornerstone.
- Notifying applicants of their status via email.
Step 7: Submit Hire from Search Form
- The unit submits an appointment form with justification for the nonselected applicants and attach a copy of the screening tool.
Step 8: HRFE Transaction
- The unit initiates the HRFE transaction for the hired candidate.
