Kahua - Milestones

This article provides step-by-step instructions on adding, editing, updating, and deleting milestones in Kahua.

Overview

The Milestones Application tracks a project’s progress using a log of milestones. When a new project is created from the university templates the milestones will be copied over to the new project.

Add a Milestone

  1. To add a Milestone, navigate to the appropriate project using the Project Finder located in the left side menu.
  2. Access the Milestone App from the App Launcher under All Apps.
  3. Once in the Milestone Application, there is a list of 15 Milestones that have already been created. If new milestones need to be added, select the New button located at the top.
  4. Enter the Description and Dates.
  5. Add needed documents in the References section.
    1. To add a document that currently exists within the project’s folder structure, select the Add Kahua Doc button.
    2. To add a document that does not exist within the project, select the Upload button to add a document saved on your device.
  6. Once done, select the Save/Close button.

Edit/Update/Delete a Milestone

  1. While in the Milestone application, select the milestone that you wish to edit, update, or delete. A details screen will open on the right.
  2. Select Edit at the top of the record to modify the milestone or add dates to the milestone.
  3. To delete a milestone, select the milestone and select Delete.
  4. Once the information has been entered/updated, select Save/Close.
  5. If you wish to baseline the milestone, select the Baseline Milestones button located at the bottom of the record.
  6. To edit multiple milestones, select multiple milestones by selecting the boxes next to the milestone number on the main Milestone Application screen.
  7. The Multi Edit button will then be visible in the top bar. Select the Multi Edit button. This will open a pop-up where you can now add the dates to multiple milestones.
    1. If you want to copy one date within the same column through all milestones, enter the date in one of the milestones and then select Copy to All.
    2. You can also Copy to Selected by selecting the boxes next to the milestones that the date needs to be copied to. Enter the date into one milestone, then select Copy to Selected to transfer that date in that column for all other selected milestones.
  8. When the Multi Edit is complete, select Save. Then close the pop-up window.
