The Skype for Business Team is pleased to announce support for new IP Phones.

Over the past year, we have worked with several companies to test new phone models compatible with Skype for Business. We are pleased to announce support for the Skype for Business compatible Yealink IP Phone models T42S, T46S, and T48S. You can find these new models of IP Phones, as well as others, that we support in our KnowledgeBase article (https://answers.illinois.edu/page.php?id=49222).

The Yealink line offers excellent audio quality, easy call transfers, a large color touchscreen on the T48S, optional Bluetooth connectivity, and the ability to use expansion modules (T46S and T48S).

The team is also testing a wireless handset model. We hope to have more information about this and a new conference phone option in the months to come.

Several of the previously supported IP Phones that many of you depend upon have been discontinued by the manufacturers. If your department is using those models, don’t worry, we will continue to support their use on campus. If you have any additional questions regarding IP Phones compatible with Skype for Business, please contact the Technology Services Help Desk at 217-244-7000 or consult@illinois.edu.
