Overleaf: Logging In and Linking Previous Overleaf Account

An article on the Overleaf for Logging In and Linking a pre-existing Overleaf account

Please follow the steps below to get logged into Overleaf with your University Credentials.

Note: Step 4 will give you a choice to link a previous Overleaf account.

 

  1. Go to this link: https://www.overleaf.com/edu/illinois. Select Login with SSO.

Or, you can also go to https://www.overleaf.com/ and click on “Log in” in the top right corner of the screen and then select Log in with SSO.

  1. Enter your netid@illinois.edu address

  1. Accept default sharing option

  1. There are two scenarios of logging in: new users coming into portal for first time and current users who have a previous Overleaf account that needs to be linked to SSO account on login.
    Account Linking:
    • If you are a new user then click on “Create new account.” 
    • If you currently have an Overleaf account directly with the vendor, then please click on “Log In and link.”
