EWS Labs, Scanning Locations and Instructions

Instructions for using the scanners in EWS Labs.

Locations

Flatbed scanners are available for use in the following EWS labs:
  • Digital Computer Lab L426 (computer #7)
  • Engineering Hall 110A (computer #52)
  • Grainger 4th Floor, East side (computer #36)
  • Mechanical Engineering Lab 1009 (computer #12)

Instructions

To use the scanners in the EWS Labs, follow these instructions:

  1. Place your document face down on the scanner and close the lid.

  2. Open the Start Menu and search for "Printers & scanners".

  3. Select the "CanoScan" device shown on the menu

  4. Select the top option: "Get scanner app"

  5. Click "Get" to install Windows Scan

  6. Open the start menu again and search for "Scan"

  7. Choose your scanning options as desired. Click "Show more" for more settings.

    Note: The default save location will save to C:\Users\YourNetID\Pictures\Scans. Make sure to save/copy/email the scan somewhere you will be able to access it after you are done using the computer!

  8. Click the Scan button at the bottom right of the menu.
