Using Document Cameras on a PC
How to connect a document camera to your PC for presentation and recording
Using a Document Camera as a Web Cam
Compatible Models: ELMO MX-P2
Required Equipment: USB-A to USBmini-B or USB-C to USBmini-B, depending on your computer's available ports
- Using the USB cable required for your computer, connect your computer to the USBmini port on the input panel of the document camera
- Ensure the document camera is plugged into power and turn it on
- You may see a "USB Device Installing" pop-up appear briefly
- Start the video conferencing software of your choice, navigate to settings, and verify that the document camera is available in the camera list
Using a Document Camera using ELMO Interactive Toolbox
Compatible Models: ELMO MX-P2, P10HD, P30HD
Required Equipment: USB-A to USBmini-B or USB-C to USBmini-B, depending on your computer's available ports
Recommended Equipment: A PC with at least two monitors/displays - ELMO Interactive Toolbox runs full screen on a monitor and it is convenient to have a second display for operating the conferencing software
- Using the USB cable required for your computer, connect your computer to the USBmini port on the input panel of the document camera
- On MX-P2, this is on the rear side of the unit
- On P10HD and P30HD, this is under the flap at the rear of the unit
- Open a browser and navigate to https://www.elmousa.com/software/
- Download and install the latest version of ELMO Interactive Toolbox for your operating system
- On Engineering IT supported devices, please submit a ticket for assistance with the software installation to engr-help@illinois.edu
- Additional information about the software may be found in the PDF manual included in the software download
- Ensure the document camera is plugged into power and turn it on
- Run ELMO Interactive Toolbox
- Using the video conferencing software of your choice, share your entire desktop with the document camera video
