LAS Framework - Creating Aliases
Aliases allow you to create shortened URLs for existing content on your site.
Aliases allow you to create an alternate URL for existing content on your site. One good use for this is to create a shorter version of a long URL. If you have moved a resource on your page permanently to a new location, you should use Redirects instead of Aliases.
Create a new Alias
- After logging in, click Manage and then Configuration in the main navigation at the top of the screen
- Click URL aliases
- Click Add alias
- Enter the system generated path for the page you want to create an alias for. You can get this just by going to the normal page an copying everything after …Illinois.edu. Be sure the include the leading “/”
- Enter the new, alternate URL. Be sure to include a leading “/”. Make sure there are no conflicts with existing pages at this address
- Click Save
